The upstairs of the home was the main building for the train station. It has a large living area and generous kitchen, single private bathroom, master bedroom and open den with additional double bed. There is a wrap around lanai with outdoor dining area. The kitchen, living area and lanai enjoy expansive views of the ocean and the beach. The kitchen has a full size refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave oven. The upstairs master bedroom has two windows facing the road, and air conditioning so you can shut the windows if you like. The master is closer to the road than the other rooms, but wood shakes outside and insulated interior wood walls ensure it is a quiet place to sleep. In the winter, the waves are so loud that occupants only feel the vibrations and hear the ocean. Even in the summer, with the trade winds and light waves, the ocean sound still fills the home. Cool sea breezes are complemented by ceiling and floor fans throughout the home. Deck furniture and sleeper lounge are brand new as of June 2009. |
